SelfRefind is seeking a Medication Manager for the Lexington, KY location! 



The Medication Manager is responsible for assisting patients in taking their medication as directed by their physician.  This person will provide education to patients on how to take the medication, will observe patient taking medication if necessary and provide feedback to patient's physician.  This person will conduct medication counts and call in prescription refills as directed. 

The Medication Manager will report to the Facility Administrator. 


 The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Assess patient medication compliance through medication counts, etc.
  • Call in patient medications as directed by physician
  • Report changes in patient condition, such as potential adverse reactions to physician
  • Document patient interactions
  • Observe patients in the self-administration process (as necessary)
  • Promote wellness and quality of life
  • Provide education and resource information regarding medication
  • Participate in Team meetings and clinical staffing
  • Participate in safety and quality assurance process.
  • Providing comfort care to patients and significant other(s)
  • Assuring cleanliness of patient rooms and accessible resource materials


  • High School diploma/GED
  • Medical Office experience preferred
  • Be highly organized, consistent and efficient.
  • Have excellent clinical and assessment skills.
  • Have a working knowledge of patient medications, potential side effects
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with Teammates, patients, family members, visitors, vendors and the public.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with compassion for others regardless of race, cultural background, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or any other issue that would be a potential therapeutic barrier to helping someone with addiction issues
  • Willingness to continue training/education in addiction recovery and therapeutic regimens
  • Basic phone/computer/electronics skills (email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, Fax, Copier, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and other members of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to continually multitask while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
  • Ability to make simple math computations either manually or by machine
  • Ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing and carrying out assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility in availability for work which will include weekday, weekend, holiday and evening hours
  • Ability to interpret and execute physician orders as recorded, and query physician for clarification as needed.
